A team of senior officials are in the country to carry out assessments on Fiji's efforts in combating corruption and white collar crime, in line with the full implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

The high powered five member delegation's three day assessment will see them hold meetings with the acting Prime Minister and Attorney General, the Solicitor General, Police Commissioner, Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Chief Magistrate, Chief Registrar, Finance Department, PSC and the Financial Intelligence Unit.

Members of the team are from Serbia, France and Vienna.

They are here to assess the implementation of the 71 articles of the Convention under the pillars of criminalization, prevention, international cooperation, asset recovery and implementation mechanisms.

Their report is also expected to identify technical assistance that the Fiji Government can seek through the United Nations.
