A review to revitalize the Agriculture Ministry has been sponsored by the United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization.

The review team consists of renowned Economist Professor Ron Duncan, a farmer and businessman Yee Wah Sing and local agricultural economist, Sakiusa Tubuna.

The Acting Chief Economist of the Ministry of Agriculture, Amrit Nath said this review is critical as it would look at the Ministry's structure and core roles and it will make sure it is responsive to the public especially the private sector.

Nath said the ministry's structure has to be more market driven to effectively deliver services and meet market needs.

He added that the review would also help senior management with challenges faced by all involved in agriculture and it would help promote the industry, create employment and raise exports and growth in the agricultural sector.
