The United Nations and Commonwealth Joint Technical Team is now holding a round of meetings with political parties, the interim government and stakeholders in preparation for the proposed President’s Political Dialogue Forum.

The UN office has confirmed that invitations to meetings with the group have been sent out to all registered political parties.

The SDL and NFP confirmed they will be meeting with the group this afternoon.

They will also meet Labour leader Mahendra Chaudhry tomorrow while former Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes confirmed he has received an invitation for a meet on Thursday.

The UN and Commonwealth team is also expected to meet with Interim Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama and Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

The Joint team will develop strategies for the UN and Commonwealth to jointly mediate an inclusive, independent and time-bound political dialogue process.

The team, consisting of Mari Yamashita and Alex Gryzbowski of the UN and Juliet Solomon and Sabhita Raju of the Commonwealth, is expected to carry out their meetings until this Saturday.
