The Fiji U-21 netball team started their 10 day tour of New Zealand with a 37-36 win against South Africa yesterday.

It was a sweet victory for the Melissa Walker coached side who are ranked 13th in the world, while South Africa is ranked 5th.

This is the second time the national side has defeated South Africa and they have followed the footsteps of the 2006 side which won 51-43 at the Dome.

The national U-21 netball team is using this tour as the build up to the World Youth Championship in the Cook Islands in August.
