The Fiji under 20 soccer side suffered another humiliating defeat at the Oceania playoffs in Tahiti.

This time Fiji went down 3-0 to New Caledonia after losing the opening game to New Zealand with the same score line.

Carlos Buzetti's team is now out of the playoff race but have a game against Tahiti tomorrow.

Buzetti after the match said New Caledonia were the better side on the day and he had to ring a number of changes after sickness had brought some key players down with the flu.

Meanwhile, hosts Tahiti caused one of the biggest upsets last night when they defeated favourites New Zealand 2-1.

It is now a three horse race between Tahiti, New Zealand and New Caledonia for a place in the FIFA Under 20 World Cup.

New Zealand will meet New Caledonia in the final match tomorrow but the winner will not be decided until the second match between Fiji and Tahiti.
