Chinese skill workers employed under the Chinese Railway Company will be in the country in two months to construct the 1,500 flats and 350 houses in Tacirua with another 500 multi-unit flats in Raiwai and Raiwaqa.
Acting Housing Authority Chairman Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo said as part of the $70 million soft loan agreement, all the housing materials and workers are to be shipped in from China.
Nawalowalo said part of the agreement also stated that locals will also be employed under the Chinese Railway Company.
Meanwhile, he said Chinese Railway Company is expected to complete the construction of the Naqali Bridge in a few months time.
