Two children drowned yesterday in two separate incidences.
A picnic trip turned tragedy when a nine year old child of Naitonitoni, Navua drowned while swimming with his family.
Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the child’s body was found floating after a while.
In another incident a two year old child of Lautoka drowned in a drain yesterday.
He was playing in a flooded drain with his friends when he got washed away.
The drowning toll now stands at 49 compared to 46 for the same period last year.
