Police have arrested and charged two men for allegedly stealing items worth more than $8,000 from a company in Navua.

The two aged 19 and 28 years old allegedly stole the items and were on their way to sell it to a scrap metal company in Suva when they were arrested by police.

One of the suspects works for the company while the other works for the scrap metal company.

Police are also questioning them in relation to some other similar incidents.

Meanwhile, a 29 year old driver of Lautoka is in serious condition after he was run over by a truck loaded with cane on Friday.

Police Media Officer Western Wame Boutolu confirmed the victim, who is a lorry driver was sleeping between two cane trucks when another lorry driver reversed a truck on him without realising that the 29 year old sleeping at the back.

He received serious injuries on the left side of his head and was conveyed to the Lautoka hospital where he is admitted.
