The Commerce and Communication Ministry is expected to provide two new companies with mobile licences at the end of this month.
Interim Commerce and Communication Minister, Tom Rickets confirms four companies have shown interest in bidding to obtain the licence and out of four; two will be given the licence.
Meanwhile, Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyed Khaiyum had earlier stressed, new companies will not be allowed to start operations till October this year.
According to Khaiyum this has been done to protect and recognize the work done by current licence carriers.
