The Fiji Rugby Union has today announced the appointment of Alifereti Malo and Jope Tuivanuavou as co-managers for the Digicel Fiji 7s team to the upcoming IRB 2007/08 series.

FRU chief executive Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua confirmed the appointment saying the two will share the role of manager throughout the Series.

Malo held the position of CEO for the Air Terminal Services in 1997-2006 and is currently a principal trainer with Turnbull Maggs (SP) Limited, a Suva based consulting company.

He was also manager for the Nadi Rugby Union in 2000-2001, during which Nadi successfully beat Naitasiri for the coveted Farebrother Sullivan Trophy.

Likewise for Tuivanuavou, he represented Suva in provincial rugby from 1976-1993 before becoming a FRU provincial referee.

In 1994, Tuivanuavou was appointed the Suva Rugby Union Referees Association President before taking up the role of secretary to the FRU Referees Association.
