Two Lives Lost To Our Roads
Dead are a 48-year-old farmer of Mulomulo and a 48-year-old self employed man of Nakurakura, Nadi.
The tragic accident occurred after the farmer who was driving his private vehicle tried to save an 18-year-old student who did not stop his vehicle after coming out of a junction.
It is alleged the Form 7 student drove out of the junction without stopping forcing the farmer to go to the opposite lane.
The car then collided head on with the car driven by the self employed man.
The 18-year-old student is in police custody and expected to be charged later today.
Meanwhile, a 43-year-old van driver of Votualevu Nadi died on Friday night along the Nadi Back road after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle went off the road and hit a culvert.
Police have managed to establish the driver was drunk at the time of the incident.
