Two Fijian nationals drowned after their boat sank near a reef in the Phoenix Islands in Kiribati on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri said an agent of a shipping company received a call from one of their ships near a reef in the Phoenix Islands and informed them that two Fijian nationals drowned after their aluminium boat sank.
It is alleged that the two Fijian men were crew members on a ship.
A body has been recovered while the search continues for the other one.
It is not yet confirmed whether the body found has been identified while investigations continue.
