Two people died in a road accident in Natabua, Lautoka early this morning.

Director Traffic Control, SSP Ramend Raj confirmed that the incident took place when there was a head on collision between two cars.

According to police, they gave chase after a car after suspecting that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The Police had earlier seen the driver and his passengers walk out of a nightclub.

Police followed the car and at Natabua, the driver lost control and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The driver escaped injuries while a passenger died at the scene.

Another passenger from the oncoming car also died while other passengers have been taken to hospital.
