Two lives have been lost in a horrific road accident in Sigatoka this morning.
Police have confirmed a middle aged man and woman travelling in a Honda CRV died instantly in Tagaqe village after their vehicle collided with an oncoming container truck at 4.30 this morning.
Police said the driver was heading towards Suva when it is believed he lost control of the vehicle at a bend which resulted in the accident. The driver sustained some minor injuries and is being questioned along with the container truck driver.
A total of 38 people have died on our roads so far for this year compared to 33 for the same period last year.
