It was a joyous day for two Vanuatu mothers after witnessing their daughters given a new gift of life as they underwent free heart surgeries at the Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital in Nasese.
The two girls, who are both 7-months-old, are now in good health after the operation.
Merian Bob, the mother of 7-month-old Stephalin Holay, says after delivering her daughter, she noticed that she was having difficulties in breathing.
Bob says after doctors from Vanuatu conducted an X-ray, they found that her daughter had a defective heart and advised her that Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital could perform surgery on her daughter.
