The small island nation of Tuvalu has caused a stir at the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen after representatives staged a walk out forcing an adjournment of the meeting till the afternoon session.

Tuvalu's plea to the industrialized nations has been backed by the Alliance of Small Island states and backed by Fiji at the COP15 conference.

Tuvalu's representative Ian Fry outlined a proposal that calls for stricter carbon emission cuts that would apply to all countries which stalled the meeting with 15 countries including China, India and Saudi Arabia refusing to discuss the idea.
