Former Australian dual international Lote Tuqiri will re-write another chapter in the history books when he dons the Vodafone Fiji Bati jersey against Samoa in the Four Nations qualifier this weekend.

Tuqiri last played for the Bati in 2000 and has been representing Australia in both union and rugby league.

The 35 year old has already signed a one year contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs after a short stint in Ireland last year.

Bati coach Rick Stone was pleased to have Tuqiri and other new players like Waqa Blake and Regan Campbell Gillard from the Penrith Panthers and Taqele Naiyaravaro of the Wests Tigers.

Stone has also named North Queensland Cowboys’ forward Ashton Sims to captain the side.

Stone said Ashton has played for Fiji in the last two World Cups and will do a great job leading the boys out on Saturday night.

The Bati will take on Samoa at 9.30pm Saturday with the winner qualifying for the Four Nations tournament involving Australia, New Zealand and England in October.
