Wallabies wing Lote Tuqiri is making solid progress in a bid to prove his fitness for the Australian rugby team's Spring Tour.

Tuqiri is recovering from minor knee surgery and has resumed running in the past week.

A Wallabies team spokesman said Tuqiri didn't train with the main group at Manly's Brookvale Oval yesterday but performed well and will need to prove his fitness again later this week.

The Spokesman said Tuqiri trained with the team but here's no decision made. He needs to get through everything that's thrown at him until Sunday.

The Wallabies depart on Monday for a six-match tour which kicks off with a Bledisloe Cup Test against New Zealand in hong Kong on November 1, followed by clashes with Italy, France, England, Wales and the Barbarians.
