It was a double for weightlifting Fiji after two of their top athletes scooped both the Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards at the FASANOC Sports Award last night.
The Award for Male Athlete of the Year went to Manueli Tulo who scooped the award for a second time in a row.
Though Tulo is away training in New Caledonia, his dad was on standby to receive the award, while Maria Liku scored her first FASANOC Award of the year.
Weightlifting Chairman, Chris Yee said that this award goes a long way for the team, as they look at scooping more for the country.
Meanwhile, Coach of the Year went to Athletics Fiji coach, Bola Tafou, for his coaching of well known athletes like of Banuve Tabakaucoro and Niko Verekauta who took out the Personality of the Year Award.
