Tulo sets new record
Tulo broke his own record with a lift of 105kg. His record stands at 101kg.
Tulo also set a new total record with a combined total of 230kg. His lift was 105kg snatch and 125kg clean and jerk.
He was very unlucky to miss 132kg clean and jerk in his second and third attempt otherwise he would have finished up with a 237kg total.
Tulo needs 240kg to secure a medal at the Commonwealth Games and he is certain of doing that.
Meanwhile two other lifters from Fiji, Joe Vueti and Maria Liku also produced good results.
Vueti broke the 300kg barrier when he snatched 130kg and clean and jerk 170kg.
Liku did her personal best in the 58kg category. She snatched 76kg and clean and jerk 95kg for 171kg total, placing her number 3 in the Oceania Senior rankings and number 2 in the Oceania junior rankings.
