Current Commonwealth Junior Weightlifting Champion Manueli Tulo is among the final five nominees for the 2010 FASANOC Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Tulo is the reigning Pacific Mini Games, Oceania and Arafura Weightlifting Champion and holds a number of Oceania Junior and Senior records, and holds the "Outstanding Young Achiever", one of the eight prestigious Commonwealth Sports Awards.

The other nominees include Banuve Tabakaucoro, Niko Verekauta, "Sprint Queen" Makelesi Bulikiobo, Digicel Fiji 7s Coach - Iliesa Tanivula and Manueli Tulo from Weightlifting.

Tabakaucoro, hit the headlines after winning the 100 metres finals in the Intermediate Grade in a time of 10.71 seconds.

Verekauta and Bulikiobo both won 5 Gold medals at the Pacific Mini Games in the Cook Islands in September and the latter was also chosen as Fiji's female Athlete of the Year at last year's FASANOC sports awards.

Verekauta also represented Fiji in the 400 metres at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, and won Gold in 200 metres and 400 metres at the 2007 Pacific Games in Samoa.

Tanivula, has proved himself as an outstanding 15's coach, and has led Fiji to the World Cup quarterfinals and only on his second tour of duty in Hong Kong, his team won the tournament.
