Fiji's Manueli Tulo from Weightlifting and Makarita Lenoa the President of Fiji Karate Federation, have been named as finalists in the prestigious Commonwealth Sports Awards.

Tulo is a finalist in the "Outstanding Young Achiever" category, is only 18 and took part in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune where he was a double record holder in the 56kg category and is currently ranked 11th in the Commonwealth.

Lenoa is up for the award of "Sports Administrator of the Year", after her outstanding effort and contribution to the sport of karate in the Pacific region.

She has been recognised by the World Karate Federation through her appointment to their Executive Committee in 2008.

In other awards, Usain Bolt has been nominated in the "Outstanding Male Athlete" and the South African Rugby 7s team has been nominated in the "Outstanding Team of the Year".
 
The announcement will be made in Leeds, England on October 24.
