The Fiji Weightlifting Federation is out to spring a few surprises at the Pacific Mini Games next week and will be using, Golden Boy, Maueli Tulo as their trump card.
Speaking to Fijivillage, weightlifting team manager Chris Yee said they are confident Tulo will do well and age should not be a barrier to his achievements.
Tulo is Fiji's reining male Athlete of the Year and has been an outstanding achiever for Fiji over the past 12 months.
He emerged from last year's Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune as the Commonwealth Youth champion and double record holder in the 56kg category with a snatch lift of 97kgs and overall lifts of 219kgs.
The weightlifting team will leave Fiji with the Rugby League, Rugby 7s and Triathlon teams on September 27th.
