Chairman of the Kadavu Provincial Council, Ratu Varani Rayawa said Tui Tavuki Ratu Waqa Narokete should have consulted chiefs from various tikina's in Kadavu before he made the request to the people of Kadavu to support the Draft People's Charter consultation process.

Rawaya said the provincial council has already rejected the People's Charter and the high chief of Tavuki should consult other chiefs before speaking on their behalf.

Ratu Varani was commenting after government, NCBBF and military officials presented their Sevusevu to the Tui Tavuki to seek his permission for the NCBBF officials to visit the villages of Kadavu prior to the consultation process of the draft People's Charter.

The Tui Tavuki said he was going to call a meeting of all the village headmen within the province to relay the message of the NCBBF team visits and to request them of their support towards the Draft People's Charter.

Ratu Varani said Kadavu is known for the pratice of the Manu Dui Tagi, which means that the chiefs are only responsible for their own tikina.
