The Methodist Church of Fiji will still have Ame Tugawe as President and Tuikilakila Waqairatu as the church General Secretary.
In a meeting yesterday attended by 132 church ministers and Stewarts, some of the church ministers proposed that the current church leaders step down and new appointments be made.
Acting General Secretary, Reverand Tevita Nawadra said it will not be possible to make changes to the current leadership because under the church constitution the only place where they can ask for changes is during the Annual Conference.
Yesterday the church ministers met with Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and senior military officers where he had made it clear that the Annual Conference and circuit meetings will be held in 2014.
Bainimarama added that any issues regarding the church will have to be discussed during yesterday's meeting.
