“If Fiji athletes are denied from being part of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow next year then they just need to aim higher.”

That is the comment by FASANOC President Reg Sanday after Senior Commonwealth figures failed to reinstate Fiji as a member of the group of nations by mid 2014.

Sanday said if athletes are denied participation at the Commonwealth Games next year, then they should try for the World Championships and the Olympic Games where the Commonwealth cannot stop Fiji's participation.

Sanday added that in the long term, it will be best for Fiji athletes if they aim for the highest level of competition.
