Representatives for the hundreds of workers that were made redundant as a result of the sudden closure of the Vatukoula Gold Mines in 2006 are yet to be appointed to the trust fund board.

According to the Social Assistance Trust Fund Agreement signed between Government and the new company, a total of eight board members will oversee how the six million dollars will be used over the next five years to assist the workers that were suddenly laid off.

Ministry of Mineral Resources Permanent Secretary, Maria Matacewa said they are awaiting more public submissions as there needs to be a fair representation.
