The Nadi Weather Offices has this morning revealed that the Tropical Depression which was located to the North of the Fiji Group has now moved further West, away from the group.

The duty Forecaster said at 4am this morning it was located at 654km west south west of Rotuma or 760km west North West of Nadi and it is moving toward Vanuatu.

It is still a depression and it is expected to turn to a cyclone in the next 24 hours to 48hours.

The Weather office said that for the Fiji Group, there will be no direct effect on the group and winds will ease right around the country while the seas will be very rough, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the western parts of the group and occasional showers for parts of Viti Levu, and occasion showers and thunderstorms for Vanua Levu.

For those planning to go out to sea, a strong wind warming is still in force for the Fiji Water and rough seas are expected.
