Tropical depression located west of Savusavu
Deputy Director, Alipate Waqaicelua said the tropical depression is moving south-east at 20km per hour. Waqaicelua said strong wind warning is in place for the Fiji group and heavy rain can cause flooding in low lying areas, rivers and creeks. He added that most parts of the country should experience strong winds today.
Waqaicelua said the Tropical depression is expected to form into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
He added that even if it forms into a tropical cyclone is will be outside the Fiji group at the rate it is moving.
Residents of the Northern Division are currently feeling the effects of the Tropical Depression, which has been located 20 km West-North-West of Cikobia at 5 this morning.
Taveuni resident, Mrs Kumar told Legend FM News that its hard to get out of their houses because of the bad weather.
Natewa Resident, Taniela Joji said they are currently experiencing bad weather.
