A strong wind warning remains in force for Southern Lau but is now cancelled for the rest of the Fiji Group.
Severe Tropical Cyclone Tomas centre was located about 250 km south southeast of Ono i Lau at 7 am today.
The cyclone is accelerating south southeastward at 31 km/hr and is moving further away from the group.
On this track, the cyclone centre is expected to be located about 490km south-southeast of Ono i Lau at 1pm today and is moving further away from the group.
