A tropical depression is expected to form in the Fiji group by midnight tonight.
Nadi Weather Office Director, Rajendra Prasad said the system will definitely form within the next 18 hours and people need to take precautionary measures.
Prasad said they are closely monitoring the system and assess the possibility of whether the tropical depression would develop into a tropical cyclone.
The advice to people is to be prepared as we are still in the cyclone season.
