As Team Fiji men's soccer side prepares to play in its first ever Olympic games, coach Frank Farina says the trip earlier in the year to Brazil was beneficial.

Speaking from Rio, Farina says the trip has helped them to acclimate to the Brazilian weather and the players will not have any problems.

Farina says in their first game against Korea Republic, they will try and play a counter football, defend and then break on attack quickly.

Farina adds Korea Republic is a very good side and it is important for them to stay organised.

The Fiji soccer team will play its first ever Olympic soccer match at 11am tomorrow against Korea Republic.

In other sports, the Fijiana 7s team will play their first pool game against USA at 4am Sunday.

The Men's 7s team will play their first pool match against Brazil at 4.30am next Wednesday.

The Olympic Games opening ceremony will start at 11am Saturday.
