Those were the sentiments of Commonwealth Envoy Sir Paul Reeves in an interview with Radio New Zealannd, about his visit to Fiji to discuss the country's political future.
Reeves said while the visit did not change the stance of the Fiji government, it was worthwhile because it helped establish relationships which will assist future discussions.
Reeves added the Commonwealth still has a role to play in bringing democracy to Fiji.
Reeves hopes to return to Fiji to discuss the political situation further.
He left on Friday after meeting Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and others stakeholders.
