South Africa Sevens coach Paul Treu will use his Apple iPad to monitor the performance of his players during matches at the Gold Coast Sevens this afternoon.
They will be the first side in the world to make use of “live” match analysis on iPads during games.
The manager will transfer figures and impressions into a computer during matches which will then become visible on Treu’s iPad.
Treu will then be able to determine next to the field if his players are reaching their specific goals.
If they fail, the coach can give feedback at halftime and directly after the game, which will - according to Treu - improve the adaptability and learning of his players.
Meanwhile, the Digicel Fiji Sevens team’s opening pool game is against Niue at 5.25 this afternoon.
