It is against the law to travel in the tray of a vehicle.
This is the message from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) after 2 people died in an accident in Sigatoka on Monday when 9 people were travelling in a twin cab to Sigatoka Town.
Media Liaison Officer Ratu Eroni Volavola said people should not be travelling in the tray of a vehicle simply because it is very dangerous as one is not secured at the back.
He added the number of seats in a vehicle is the exact number of people that the vehicle can cater for and to carry excess passengers, one must get clearance from the LTA.
The road death toll is currently three.
