Travel ban lifted on Shameema Ali
Ali revealed to Village News that she received a phone call from Immigration Director, Viliame Naupoto last night saying that she had been cleared for travel after being banned from boarding her Brisbane flight at the Nadi International Airport on Monday the 16th.
However, Ali is of the opinion that the current travel bans will not work if it is to prevent people from talking about Fiji's situation overseas.

Ali adds that the point of her travel was to attend a conference in Townsville, Australia with the presentation of her paper to be today, which she has now missed.
Fiji Human Rights Commissioner, Dr Shaista Shameem has just confirmed that the travel bans on both, Suva Lawyer Graham Leung and Shameema Ali have been lifted.
Immigration Director, Viliame Naupoto is expected to comment on on the issue later.
