And airline operators are also monitoring the situation.
Sun Air Pacific Limited Manager Commercials Pacific Sun in Nadi, Tony Beddoes said that Pacific Sun services have been suspended till midday tomorrow, and adds that all passengers booked to travel on services tomorrow are requested to contact Air Pacific reservations on 6720 888.
Officials at the Nadi International Airport confirm that all international flights in and out of Nadi are currently on schedule until further notice.
However, Air Pacific has confirmed this evening that all flights scheduled to depart Nadi tomorrow have been cancelled and will be rescheduled. These flights include two flights to Auckland and one each to Brisbane and Sydney which were to leave between 8:45 and mid tomorrow.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is being experienced in Navua, Nausori, and along Korovou and Tailevu. Labasa police also confirm that they experienced heavy rain earlier this evening, however, the rain has now stopped. There is also heavy rain being experienced in Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Rakiraki and Tavua with reports that the wind is picking up.
