The meeting of over 500 Australian Travel agents in Sigatoka today has been met with approval by the interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama who said this is a very big boost for the country.

Addressing the meeting in a pre-recorded televised speech, Bainimarama said that their presence will see an immediate and long term benefit for Fiji in terms of revenue for the country.

In an interview with Fijivillage yesterday, TravelScene International Australia Chief Executive, Mike Thompson had earlier revealed that the travel agents instead of having an annual travel agents meeting, will be spending the next two days in the country

Australian based company, TravelScene American Express, the organizers of the event, say that close to $2 million dollars will be injected into the country as a result of the event and it started today and is expected to finish on Sunday at the Shangri - La Fijian Resort.
