Motorists have paid $8 million in Road User levy till the end of last year.

His comments come after the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said that it may take a number of years before the Road User Levy is used to upgrade road maintenance adding the levy is collected and deposited in a separate bank account from January last year till the end of the year to be used later.

Spokesperson Ratu Eroni Volavola said the government can explain this as they are only responsible for collecting the levy.
