The Transport Ministry and the Land Transport Authority is working closely to ensure that all the stages between Suva and Nausori are clearly marked to avoid confusions in charging of bus fares.
Spokesperson, Sainiana Waqainabete said traveling public should pay attention to the stages.
Some passengers are confused over bus fares charged after stages were merged.
Meanwhile, taxi drivers have been given more than a month’s time to have their taxi meters calibrated according to the new fare.
The Acting General Secretary for Fiji Taxi Union, Shammi Kapoor said that he has been advised by the Land Transport Authority that drivers have until 15th September to get their taxi meters calibrated.
He said any driver who does not have the meter calibrated by 15th next month will be fined by LTA.
Drivers can now also get their meters calibrated at Dorosen Electronic in Kaka Street, Nepani. The other companies allowed to calibrate the meters include Safeway Electronics, Kenston Electronics and Dominion Electronics.
