Digicel Fiji 7s trainer Max Hughes is confident the 12 players who are in Wellington for the New Zealand 7s can match any side in the two day tournament.

Hughes was part of the team that lost in Dubai and George in the first leg of the IRB 7s series. He said the players have made a lot of sacrifice during the festive season as they want to win the New Zealand 7s title.

He believes the Iliesa Tanivula coached side have improved from Dubai, where they lost in the semifinal and in George they came close to beating New Zealand in the final.

Hughes adds they have prepared physically, spiritually and mentally to win in Wellington.
