This festive Season has turned out to be a tragic one for three families.

Police reveal that on Christmas day two men - a 21 year old and a 27 year old died on our roads, while a 26 year old man died on Christmas Eve in Beqa.

Assistant Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said it is really tragic that families are mourning the deaths during this Festive season.

According to Sokomuri, on Friday the 26 year old man of Dakuibeqa Village in Beqa went outside at around 8pm to switch on the family generator when he was electrocuted.

Sokomuri has called on members of the public to be cautious during this long weekend and not to take any warnings from the Police and the National Fire Authority lightly especially during this Festive Season.

Apart from the death in Beqa, the other two deaths were a result of accidents where in Yako Nadi a driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a post instantly killing the 21 year old electrician who was a passenger and in another incident a 26 year old man on horseback died after being hit by a car heading towards Ba.

The Road Death Toll now stands at 52 compared to 46 for the same period last year.
