Police are now taking active measures to prevent accidents and fatalities on our roads.

Police have warned people that police has a zero tolerance policy and traffic offenders will not be spared.

According to police, there is no bail out for drunken driving offences and anybody arrested for drunk driving will not be released until he is presented before the court.

They said that with the second term school holiday beginning this Friday they have increased their visibility on the roads and will be conducting breathalyser tests, booking speeding drivers, defective vehicles and booking people driving motor vehicles without a valid driving license.

Meanwhile, a 5-year-old girl is admitted at the CWM hospital after she was hit by a taxi in Nabua on Friday.

She was walking along the road with her sister when the accident took place.

The taxi driver has been questioned and released.
