Traffic is expected to ease in the Central Division, come this Friday as the new four lane NokoNoko Rd and a four lane new bridge will be officially opened.
Works Ministry Spokesperson, Sainiana Waqainabete said they have found that the volume of traffic using the Nokonoko Rd in Laucala Beach on a daily basis is around 20,000 and the opening of the road will help ease the traffic congestion from now.
She said the four lane road and the bridge will ease the pressure which will result in the reduction of cost maintenance.
Waqainabete said that it had been a challenge for the ministry to finish the road work on time due to the erratic weather pattern and the continued usage of the road by people.
The Nokonoko Rd was fully funded by the government at a cost of $2million.
