The Fiji Police Force has revealed that twenty percent of those who die on our roads every year are under the age of 15.

And to curb this problem Senior Superintendent of Police Mahesh Mishra said that teaching safety skills to children can provide lifelong benefits to society.

SSP Mishra said the absence of traffic education can leave children exposed to unnecessary risks.

SSP Mishra added that the traffic officers had joined hands with the students and teachers for awareness programmes of road safety tips on our roads.

He said many times it has been noted that children cross the road as soon as they get off the bus or any transport and this has led to the younger ones losing their lives.
