Now that informal talks between the FNPF and the Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Union have reached a deadlock, a trade dispute has been lodged by the Union with the Ministry of Labour.
This has been confirmed by the Acting Interim Minister for Labour, Adi Laufitu Malani who said that now the formal machinery will be in motion on the settling of the FNPF and Fiji Bank and Finance Sector Union dispute.
Union General Secretary Pramod Rae has confirmed the filing of a trade dispute with the Ministry of Labour regarding this issue.
The Interim Acting Minister for Labour confirmed that following formal talks, if a deadlock is again reached then there is a possibility that the matter can be referred to permanent arbitration by the Permanent Secretary for Labour.
This comes after, 200 FNPF workers walked off their jobs late last week because they had not been paid their Cost of Living Adjustment for the past three years and were not going to be awarded their bonus payments for this year.
