Trade Unions are expected to appear before the New Employment Relations Tribunal for the second time this Friday, in relation to a dispute filed on civil servants 5% pay restoration and the breach of the Collective Agreement by the Public Service Commission.

Fiji Public Service Association general secretary Rajeshwar Singh said Chief Tribunal, William Cullenchini had given the unions and PSC a month to make submissions.

The Chief Tribunal will focus on the submissions on Friday.

The Public Sector Unions representing civil servants across the country filed the dispute after the Public Service Commission stated that the Interim Government is not in a position to back date the pay restoration.

Labour Ministry officials earlier confirmed that their Disputes Committee referred the matter to Tribunal, after they were unable to bring the two parties to the negotiating table for a resolution.
