Talks between Trade Ministers from the African, Caribbean and Pacific Countries currently being held at the Forum Secretariat will determine if farmers will need a further boost to ensure sugar export demands are met.
Fiji Sugarcane Growers Council Chairman Jain Kumar said the meeting for the next 2 days is to finalize trade excess to the European markets to find out if farmers will need an incentive as sugar production for this year has not been good.
The trade ministers are meeting this morning at the Forum Secretariat to finalize talks, as the deadline for all negotiations with the EU is at the end of this year.
They will also be meeting to have talks on trade relations with Australia and New Zealand.
