Levuka Mayor George Gibson said their roads need fixing as well as other infrastructure and hopes that municipalities through the ministry of local government get a good allocation this Friday in the 2009 National budget.
Meanwhile, Nadi Town Mayor Timoci Koroiqica is calling on the government to consider granting more funds to the tourism and works ministry to improve on infrastructure in and around the Nadi area as they want to give a good first impression to tourists when they arrive into the country.
The Sugarcane Growers Council has requested the interim government to provide $10 million worth of assistance to the sugar industry in 2009 National Budget to be announced this Friday.
