Nausori Town Clerk Satendra Singh has informed the National Union of Municipal Workers that their grievances will be discussed in a special general meeting this evening.
Union General Secretary Kamal Iyer said the workers walked out because they were not happy with the Mayor, Yogeshwar Singh's directive for them to start work before 7am. Iyer said the rotational policy is not being implemented by the council and the same workers are doing tar sealing on the road week after week.
The Union has also informed the Town Clerk that if the issue is not resolved, members will once again stage a lightning protest tomorrow morning until the matter is resolved.
